IN CASE OF FIRE
In Case of Fire (formely known as Element) are an
alternative rock group from
Northern Ireland. Formed in 2005 the band is currently signed to Search and
Destroy Records, a new venture by Raw Power Management (who manage bands such as
Funeral for a Friend,
Bullet For My Valentine,
Iron Maiden and
Gallows) in the UK and the
Zomba Label Group in the US. The original and current line up consists of
brothers Steven (vocals
guitar) and Colin Robinson (drums)
and completed with Mark Williamson (bass).
In Case of Fire has toured with Funeral for a Friend,
Queens of the Stone Age,
30 Seconds to Mars as well as playing shows with
Kids in Glass Houses. To date the band have performed at various festivals
T in the Park,
Reading and Leeds festivals and
Rock am Ring and
Rock im Park.
Recently they were the opening act on the 2009
Kerrang! tour supporting
Bring Me the Horizon,
Dir en grey and
Mindless Self Indulgence. The band have received high praise from Kerrang!
magazine with editor Paul Brannigan saying “The best new band I’ve heard in
The musical style of In Case of Fire has been described as "alternative rock"
with "progressive" and "hardcore" influence, and they compared to
Queens of the Stone Age and
Mars Volta. The band won MTV2 'Spanking New' competition, coming out on top
of such acts as
Black Kids and
Lykke Li to be the "viewer's choice of bands to watch out for in 2008".
To date the band have released two singles 'This Time We Stand', 'The
Cleansing' and their third single 'Enemies' will be released on the May 4, 2009.
Jesse Ewles directed the video for 'Enemies'. Their debut album 'Align
the Planets&' is set to be released on May 11, 2009. Reception of the singles
released so far has been mainly positive with critics praising the use of
time signatures/a> with AltSounds.com praising the "brilliant vocals from lead
singer/guitarist Steve Robinson, and the drum riffs from Colin Robinson are near
