The Longcut are already being touted as leaders in Manchester’s latest musical upsurge, with inevitable comparisons to past masters Joy Division. Their sound does rely on the interplay of drum machines, sparse guitar shrift and incomprehensible yelping.

The Longcut combine everything from Punk, Post Rock, Electronic, Kraut and Dance. They have just released their debut EP ‘Transition' to much critical acclaim through the Deltasonic label.

The three members met at Manchester University, bonding over an open-minded enthusiasm for esoteric music. Lee Gale, Stuart Ogilvie and Jon Fearon now write, record and build a following in a city that neither one of them can comfortably call a home town.

The Long Cut have a clear motto; music speaks louder than words. As a result they cultivate a harmonious relationship between bass and lead guitars, making their various instrumental interludes emotional and reflective.
"....this band could just be Manchester's answer to
The Killers"

NME: 'The first three rows dance like extras in 24 Hour Party People, and that glow is the realisation that Manchester is really burning'.
